Paris Saint Germain Vs Real Madrid

Paris St-Germain 1-0 Real Madrid: Kylian Mbappe's late goal gives PSG first-leg advantage

Mbappe scores in stoppage time as PSG edge Real Madrid in Champions League last-16 first leg

Kylian Mbappe scored a stunning late goal to give Paris St-Germain a 1-0 victory over Real Madrid in the first leg of their Champions League last-16 tie.

The French forward, who has been linked with a move to Real Madrid in the summer, fired home from close range in the fifth minute of stoppage time to secure a vital win for PSG.

Real Madrid had the better chances in the first half, with Karim Benzema and Vinicius Junior both going close. But it was PSG who took the lead in the second half when Mbappe scored a brilliant individual goal, evading three Real Madrid defenders before firing home.

Real Madrid pushed for an equaliser in the closing stages, but they were unable to find a way past PSG's defence. The result leaves PSG in a strong position ahead of the second leg at the Santiago Bernabeu on March 9.
