FCK reaches DFB Cup final
Successful performance against Nuremberg
Kaiserslautern celebrated a deserved 2-0 win over Nuremberg on the Betzenberg on Tuesday evening, securing their place in the DFB Cup quarter-finals.
After a goalless first half, Terrence Boyd opened the scoring for the Red Devils in the 52nd minute. Just under 20 minutes later, Hikmet Ciftci made it 2-0, sealing Kaiserslautern's victory.
The FCK is now one of the last eight teams remaining in the competition and will face either Fortuna Düsseldorf or Bayer Leverkusen in the quarter-finals. The draw for the next round will take place on Sunday, 6 March.
Coach Dirk Schuster's team can now look forward to the next round with confidence, having proven their strength against a strong Nuremberg side. The FCK will be hoping to continue their good form in the DFB Cup and make it all the way to the final in Berlin.
